A simple belief. A lasting responsibility.

Undiscovered One was built around a simple belief: artists should have a real opportunity to be discovered, and people who support them should be treated fairly.

Platforms have enormous power over creators, audiences, ownership, discovery, money, and access. That power should come with responsibilities.

This Digital Bill of Rights defines the principles Undiscovered One commits to protecting for creators, listeners, purchasers, and everyone who participates in the platform.

These rights are intended to guide not only our policies, but also our technology, moderation systems, recommendation systems, payment systems, product decisions, and future development.

Undiscovered One may evolve. These rights should not quietly disappear when it does.

The Right to Creator Ownership

Creators retain ownership of the original work they bring to Undiscovered One.

Uploading music, artwork, metadata, or other creative material does not transfer ownership of that work to Undiscovered One.

Creators grant Undiscovered One only the permissions necessary to host, distribute, stream, sell, promote, and operate their content according to the agreements they accept.

Undiscovered One will not claim ownership of a creator’s music, identity, brand, artwork, or other original creative work simply because it appears on the platform.

Creator ownership should remain creator ownership.

The Right to AI Transparency and Protection

Creators and listeners have the right to understand when artificial intelligence materially affects music, moderation, recommendations, or other important experiences on Undiscovered One.

Music that is materially generated using artificial intelligence must be identified appropriately.

The use of AI for production assistance, such as mastering, cleanup, restoration, or similar tools, does not automatically make a work AI-generated.

Uploading content to Undiscovered One does not automatically grant permission for that content to be used to train generative AI systems.

Undiscovered One will not use a creator’s voice, likeness, identity, or work to create unauthorized impersonations or synthetic representations of that creator.

If AI materially contributes to an important platform decision, Undiscovered One should provide meaningful transparency whenever reasonably possible.

AI may assist the platform. It should not operate without accountability.

The Right to Portability

People should be able to leave Undiscovered One without losing access to legitimate records and data they are entitled to keep.

Creators should be able to export appropriate information associated with their work, including release metadata, credits, uploaded materials, earnings history, payout records, and relevant analytics.

Listeners should be able to export appropriate account information, such as purchase history, owned-library records, playlists, favorites, follows, and other eligible personal data.

Portability does not grant listeners unrestricted copies of copyrighted audio files.

Creators may receive useful audience analytics, but Undiscovered One will not disclose private listener identities or personal information to creators without appropriate permission.

Where practical, exported information should be provided in useful, portable formats rather than deliberately difficult or unusable ones.

Leaving the platform should not mean leaving your legitimate records behind.

The Right to Transparent Compensation

Creators have the right to understand how money connected to their work is calculated, divided, held, and paid.

Undiscovered One should clearly disclose applicable revenue splits, fees, deductions, payout statuses, and other material factors affecting creator compensation.

Creators should be able to understand the difference between gross revenue, deductions, platform revenue, creator revenue, and other allocations that affect what they receive.

Undiscovered One will not retroactively apply a less favorable compensation structure to money that has already been earned.

Material changes to creator compensation should be clearly communicated before they take effect.

Creators should have access to reasonable historical earnings and payout records.

When digital ownership resale becomes available, creators will receive a disclosed share of eligible resale transactions.

Sellers should also be shown what they will receive before a resale is completed.

No creator should have to guess how they got paid.

The Right to Expression

Creators have the right to express themselves through lawful artistic work without being suppressed merely because their work is unpopular, unconventional, niche, religious, political, experimental, controversial, or commercially inconvenient.

Undiscovered One may enforce legitimate rules relating to safety, legality, fraud, harassment, intellectual property, impersonation, and other harmful conduct.

Those rules should focus on actual violations rather than conformity of viewpoint or artistic style.

Listeners should also be free to discover, follow, purchase, and support lawful creators without ideological interference from the platform.

Undiscovered One can enforce standards. It should not enforce sameness.

The Right to Fair Discovery

Every eligible creator deserves a genuine opportunity to be discovered regardless of existing fame, follower count, label status, or marketing budget.

Undiscovered One exists to help unknown and emerging artists grow.

Discovery systems should therefore be designed to create meaningful opportunities for artists who do not already have large audiences.

Popularity may be one signal among many, but it should not become an automatic barrier preventing new creators from being heard.

Radio, recommendations, search, genre discovery, charts, editorial placements, and other discovery systems should reflect this principle.

Creators should not be penalized in organic discovery because they use competing platforms, refuse to purchase optional services, criticize Undiscovered One, or decline commercial opportunities.

Paid placement or sponsored promotion must be identified as such and should not be disguised as organic discovery.

Undiscovered One exists to discover the undiscovered.

The Right to Attribution

Creators and contributors have the right to accurate and meaningful attribution for their work.

Undiscovered One should preserve and display appropriate credits for artists, featured artists, songwriters, producers, engineers, composers, and other legitimate contributors.

Credits should not disappear simply because a release is updated or transferred through platform systems.

Legitimate contributors should not be quietly removed from a work without an appropriate correction or dispute process.

Credits should remain connected to music wherever reasonably possible throughout the platform.

If someone helped create the work, the platform should not erase them from it.

The Right to Privacy and Data Transparency

People have the right to understand how their data is collected, used, shared, and protected on Undiscovered One.

Undiscovered One should clearly explain the major categories of information it collects and why that information is needed.

This may include account information, listening history, purchases, creator analytics, recommendation signals, device information, and other data necessary to operate the platform.

Undiscovered One will not sell personal data to advertisers.

Creators may receive appropriate audience analytics, but private listener identities and personal information should remain protected unless the listener chooses to share them.

People should have reasonable access to important data associated with their accounts and the ability to correct inaccurate information where appropriate.

Undiscovered One may use data to improve the platform.

People should not unknowingly become the product.

The Right to Algorithmic Transparency and Protection from Secret Suppression

Creators and listeners have the right to understand, at a meaningful level, how automated systems affect what they see, hear, and reach.

Undiscovered One does not need to publish proprietary source code or reveal systems in ways that enable abuse.

However, creators should not be secretly buried, throttled, shadowbanned, or made effectively invisible without a legitimate reason.

When a creator, release, or account becomes restricted from Radio, search, recommendations, charts, or other important discovery systems for a policy-related reason, Undiscovered One should explain the reason whenever reasonably possible.

Listeners should be able to understand the major types of signals that shape their recommendations.

Paid or commercially influenced placement should be clearly identified.

Algorithms can organize discovery.

They should not become invisible judges with no accountability.

The Right to Platform Independence

Creators have the right to build their careers beyond Undiscovered One.

Using Undiscovered One does not require platform exclusivity unless a creator knowingly chooses to participate in a specific program that clearly requires it.

Creators may release their work elsewhere, promote other services, operate independent websites, work with labels or distributors, sell merchandise elsewhere, and maintain relationships outside Undiscovered One.

Creators should not lose organic discovery opportunities simply because they also participate in competing platforms.

A creator’s name, brand, reputation, identity, and career belong to the creator.

Listeners may also use Undiscovered One alongside other music services without punishment or artificial restriction.

Undiscovered One should earn loyalty by being valuable, not by making departure painful.

The Right to Digital Ownership

When a person legitimately purchases eligible music on Undiscovered One, that purchase should represent meaningful digital ownership.

A purchase is not simply temporary access that exists only while Undiscovered One approves of the purchaser’s account.

Legitimately owned music should remain associated with the purchaser even if that purchaser is later suspended or banned from participating in other parts of the platform.

A suspended or banned person may lose the ability to make new purchases, participate in community features, or use other restricted services.

They should not automatically lose music they already own.

A ban is not confiscation.

Removing a release from sale should not automatically remove that release from the libraries of people who legitimately purchased it.

Owned music may be downloaded to authorized devices for offline playback through Undiscovered One.

Digital ownership does not grant the purchaser an unrestricted MP3 or other raw audio file, nor does it transfer copyright or unrestricted redistribution rights.

Purchasers should be able to recover legitimate ownership on replacement or authorized devices through appropriate account recovery systems.

Undiscovered One will not quietly weaken existing ownership rights through retroactive changes.

When resale functionality becomes available, eligible digital ownership will include the right to transfer ownership through Undiscovered One.

Eligible purchased music may be resold, gifted, or otherwise transferred through approved platform systems.

A completed transfer moves the ownership entitlement to the new owner rather than creating an additional unrestricted copy.

Creators will receive a clearly disclosed share of eligible resale transactions.

Applicable seller proceeds, creator royalties, and platform fees should be disclosed before a transaction is completed.

Undiscovered One should maintain appropriate records showing legitimate acquisition and subsequent transfer of digital ownership.

Future ownership systems may also support inheritance or estate transfer.

Digital ownership should mean something.

The Right to Due Process

If Undiscovered One takes a meaningful action against a person’s account, content, earnings, or reach, that person has the right to understand what happened.

Where appropriate, Undiscovered One should identify the action taken, the reason for it, the policy or rule involved, what was affected, and what can be done to correct the problem.

Correctable problems should include understandable remediation instructions.

When an appeal or review process is available, the affected person should be told how to use it.

Moderation actions should be proportionate to the conduct involved.

Resolved violations should not continue causing unnecessary punishment unless continued restrictions are justified by the seriousness or history of the issue.

Undiscovered One should maintain a dedicated account and content standing experience where users and creators can review active restrictions, policy violations, remediation steps, appeals, and resolved issues.

When everything is in good standing, people should be able to see that too.

No unexplained punishment.

No secret restrictions.

No dead-end enforcement.

The Right to Security and Recovery

People have the right to reasonable protection of their accounts, identities, purchases, content, and earnings.

Undiscovered One should provide appropriate safeguards against unauthorized access, account takeover, fraudulent ownership transfers, and unauthorized payout changes.

Important security-sensitive actions should receive additional protection where appropriate.

Losing access to a device, password, email address, or other credential should not automatically mean losing legitimate ownership, creator history, or earnings.

Undiscovered One should provide reasonable account recovery paths for people who can appropriately establish ownership of an account.

Material security events affecting a person’s account should be communicated whenever reasonably possible.

Security should protect people from losing what is legitimately theirs.

The Right to Continuity

The rights granted through Undiscovered One should not depend entirely on Undiscovered One existing forever in its current form.

If Undiscovered One is sold, reorganized, materially changes its services, discontinues Digital Ownership, or permanently shuts down, the platform should make reasonable efforts to preserve legitimate ownership records, creator records, and other rights established under this Bill of Rights.

Undiscovered One should design future ownership systems with continuity in mind.

Possible continuity mechanisms may include archival access, ownership exports, migration systems, successor services, or other appropriate technical solutions.

The exact technology may change over time.

The principle should not.

People should not wake up one day to discover that legitimate ownership vanished simply because the platform changed.

Amendment and Protection of Rights

Undiscovered One may amend this Digital Bill of Rights as the platform evolves.

New rights may be added, protections may be strengthened, and language may be clarified.

Material reductions to established rights should not occur silently.

If Undiscovered One proposes a meaningful reduction to a publicly adopted right, the change should be clearly disclosed in advance, explained in understandable language, and recorded as an amendment.

Changes to ordinary policies, Terms of Service, product interfaces, or internal systems should not be used to quietly override the principles established here.

The Digital Bill of Rights should guide the platform.

The platform should not quietly rewrite the Bill of Rights to justify whatever it wants to do next.

Our Commitment

Undiscovered One is built around creators who have not yet been discovered and listeners willing to discover them.

That relationship deserves more than features and algorithms.

It deserves trust.

Creators deserve ownership, attribution, transparency, opportunity, independence, and fair treatment.

Listeners deserve privacy, meaningful ownership, transparency, security, and respect.

And everyone deserves to know that when Undiscovered One makes a promise about their rights, that promise means something.

Undiscovered One exists to discover the undiscovered — without taking away the rights of the people who make that possible.
